Number of years Huntsman has been developing chemistries that enable more sustainable, effective and comfortable lives
Huntsman’s Global Business Services (GBS) hub in Kuala Lumpur held a leadership meet and greet recently. New interns, and accounting and legal associates spent time with GBS Global Director Oyin Oke and Vice President and Controller Steven Jorgensen to learn more about the company.
"I am constantly humbled at the phenomenal talent we attract and retain here at Huntsman,” Oke said. “Our internship program has expanded to the new functions within the Kuala Lumpur site, and it was great to interact with our first-ever legal intern in Kuala Lumpur.”
The leaders shared words of wisdom followed by a question-and-answer round to learn more about the group members.
The Continuous Improvement team successfully rolled out a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt training at the Global Business Services (GBS) Kuala Lumpur site. Eighteen associates were nominated and attended this training. The participants spent five days learning the basics of project management, the use of statistics and lean tools, and change management principles. Participants left the training as project managers with the knowledge to drive improvements in processes.
Participants are now Continuous Improvement (CI) practitioners who will lead CI projects within their teams. From this training, we are expecting more than 20 CI projects to be deployed into various GBS functions.
CI and Automation Day was designed to jumpstart ideas and excitement around the possibilities for teams to improve how they do business. With so many opportunities to improve, the Intelligent Automation (IA) group knows that it is imperative for all Huntsman teams to investigate their own processes and see what can be refined through the smart application of digital technologies. Huntsman currently has more than 200 automation use cases, with 44 more in production, 21 more in review, and 15 more in the design and deploy stage.
