Huntsman to Showcase Innovative TPUs at NPE 2009
The Woodlands, TX – The Polyurethanes division of Huntsman Corporation (NYSE:HUN) will be showcasing its innovative thermoplastic polyurethanes (TPU) products at the forthcoming NPE, The International Plastics Showcase, to be held in Chicago, Illinois, USA between June 22 – 26 (Huntsman stand 111055, West Hall).
The focus will be on new developments in four key technology platforms:
• High Flow TPU - polyester based grades, using patented technology and offering exceptionally high melt indices for improved penetration and flow, without compromising physical properties, for fabric lamination, compounding and film adhesives applications.
• Soft Elastic TPU - polyester and polyether based grades, non-plasticized, phthalate free, patented technology with hardness as low as Shore A55. These soft grades are easy to process and set up quickly. Ideal for use in compounding, extrusion, injection molding and film applications, some grades are USP Class VI compliant.
• High Hardness Aliphatic TPU - a new Shore 60D aliphatic grade for outdoor applications where additional abrasion and surface hardness is required for applications like security glazing, signage, surface protection and other high-UV exposed applications.
• Foam TPU - smartLite® patented, closed and open cell foams, in various hardnesses, both polyester and polyether, with densities as low as 0.4g/cm3.
