Huntsman Performance Products and Norchem to Expand Cooperation
EVERBERG, Belgium -- Huntsman Performance Products and Zavod Sintanolov, a member of the Norchem Group, have announced that they are looking to expand the range of chemistries they produce together in the Russian Federation.
Together the two companies successfully manufacture anionic and amphoteric surfactants that are used primarily to improve the performance of home and personal care products such as detergents, cosmetics, shampoos and shower gels.
Extending their cooperation the partners will now investigate the introduction of new products and technologies for fast-growing industrial markets across Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). This strategic move is designed to leverage Huntsman’s international experience and Norchem’s position as a national producer of surfactants and polyethylene glycols.
The announcement comes as the two companies celebrate three years of working together.
Currently all local production arising from the cooperation takes place at Norchem’s Lanitex Optima 7 manufacturing site near St Petersburg. Under the new arrangement the two companies will look to increase production to include Norchem’s Dzerzhinsk facility.
Huntsman Performance Products is part of Huntsman Corporation. The company has a strong presence in the Russian Federation through Huntsman CIS LLC and its wholly owned manufacturing subsidiary Huntsman-NMG, which is located in Obninsk.
The Norchem Group is the leading manufacturer of different surfactants and polyethylene glycols in the Russian Federation and CIS.
