Huntsman Expands RenShape® Board Production at East Lansing, US Facility
EAST LANSING, Michigan, August 1, 2013 – To meet growing demand for its RenShape® CNC-machinable modeling and tooling boards, Huntsman Advanced Materials has installed an additional, state-of-the-art production line at the East Lansing, Michigan facility. Advanced equipment that is part of the new molding area produces multiple board sizes on a single machine and features a dedicated feed system to accommodate the manufacture of various board types simultaneously on the plant’s multiple manufacturing lines.
According to Monte Edlund, Vice President – Americas, Huntsman Advanced Materials, “With the installation of our new high-capacity molding equipment, we streamlined operating efficiency, increased throughput and enhanced our ability to quickly respond to growing market demands for modeling and tooling boards.”
Huntsman’s RenShape® boards are available exclusively from Freeman Manufacturing & Supply Company, Huntsman’s master tooling distributor in North America. The primary product line includes seven different CNC-machinable boards for building high-accuracy, dimensionally stable models and tooling. The company also produces specialty boards for machining fixtures and foundry tooling. To meet specific user and project requirements, boards are manufactured with a range of physical characteristics including varied densities, flexural, tensile and compressive strengths, glass transition temperatures, and coefficients of thermal expansion. All of the RenShape® boards produce models and tools with an outstanding surface finish and edge definition.
