Huntsman Announces Commercial Availability of Water-based JEFFSPERSE® Dispersants

The Woodlands, TX – Huntsman’s Performance Products division today announced the global commercial availability of their universal polymeric JEFFSPERSE® pigment dispersants. JEFFSPERSE® X-3202, JEFFSPERSE® X-3204 and JEFFSPERSE® X-3202 RF dispersants are designed for use in aqueous pigment concentrates utilized in printing inks, and automotive, wood, furniture and industrial coatings.
“JEFFSPERSE X3202 and X3204 dispersants continue the expansion of our range of specialty chemical coatings,” said Stu Monteith, Vice President, Performance Specialties. “Being able to offer this product commercially helps us help our customers. This product range answers a need in the marketplace. And, we’re not stopping here. We’re also continuing development in solvent-based and UV-curable systems.”
The JEFFSPERSE product range consists of true universal organic pigment dispersants for water-based systems. The benefits offered to formulators include improved stability, improved gloss, higher color strength and increased commercial productivity. In addition, these dispersants cover the whole gamut of color with a wide range of applications, such as flexographic and gravure printing inks, inkjet inks and coatings. These JEFFSPERSE products are also excellent dispersants with carbon black pigments.
JEFFSPERSE X3202 and X3204 dispersants improve color concentrates by allowing higher pigment loading, decreased mill time and lower viscosity. In addition, they improve finished ink performance in such areas as color development, optical properties (gloss), aging stability and color retention.
