Huntsman to Exhibit at CosmoTech India 2016
Mumbai, INDIA – With the Indian cosmetics and personal care industry growing rapidly, global chemical company Huntsman has announced that it will be exhibiting at CosmoTech India in New Delhi in July. Attending the event for the first time, Huntsman will be speaking to formulators about ingredients based on sustainable feedstocks, and the potential benefits they can bring to the manufacture and performance of kind, gentle skin and hair care products – which are increasingly in demand across the Indian sub-continent.
At CosmoTech, Huntsman will showcase a range of performance chemistries including ‘free from’ ingredients based on naturally derived inputs. Specific products will include:
- JEFFSOL® glycerine carbonate (GC) – a versatile emollient and solvent for a variety of beauty and personal care applications
- EMPILAN® DPHS emulsifier – a non-ionic product and dispersing agent that can deliver long-term stability to personal care water-in-oil formulations
- EMPIGEN® S18 surfactant – a silicon-free conditioning agent primarily used in hair care products
- EMPICOL® XCT14 surfactant – a concentrated blend of ethylene oxide-free and sulphate-free surfactants for preparing mild hair and body care formulations
- EMPILAN® AOE 10 and AOE 25 emulsifiers – mild products based on natural avocado oil for personal care formulations
- EMPICOL® C alkyl ether carboxylate – which delivers outstanding mildness and good skin compatibility for personal care formulations
Huntsman’s commitment to creating ingredients for kind and gentle formulations will also be discussed on the first day of the CosmoTech Congress. On Wednesday 13 July, at 3:00pm, Neha Bilhatia – Technical Application Manager at Huntsman – will present a paper entitled: ‘Differentiated formulations with mild and gentle claims’.
Ece Caliskan, Marketing Manager, Asia Pacific, Home & Personal Care, at Huntsman Performance Products, said: “The beauty industry in India is growing incredibly quickly off the back of rapid urbanization and rising disposable incomes. Consumers, with more money to spend on cosmetic, beauty and personal care products, are demanding more sustainable formulations. Women, for example, are interested in milder, gentler formulations that still offer great results; while men are also spending more on products as the trend for male grooming increases. Like the rest of the world, we are now seeing big demand in India for ingredients derived from natural, sustainable feedstocks. We look forward to exhibiting at CosmoTech – one of the largest trade shows in India for cosmetic and personal care manufacturers – and talking to companies looking to source supplies from a company with a base in India.”
Huntsman prides itself on working hand in hand with its beauty and personal care customers to develop ingredients that match their requirements and can enhance their formulations, to ultimately help improve wellbeing. In recent years Huntsman’s Performance Products division has invested in India, opening a new production facility at Ankleshwar in India and a new R&D facility in Mumbai. The Huntsman Performance Products R&D center is staffed by a team of experienced chemists who can meet the needs of the fast growing Indian market with locally designed products and solutions, targeted to meet regional needs.
